about planning a private event at Hurd Orchards

What can Hurd Orchards provide?
Catering, cakes, floral installments, table arrangements, carrying flowers, choice of beautiful linens, antique china, solid silver flatware, favors, a very beautiful and unusual venue.

Flowers
For each function our spaces will be filled with spectacular flowers. Because the cost of growing and arranging these flowers is extremely high, the flowers used in decorating our spaces remain at Hurd Orchards. The cost of these flowers is included in the price per person. However, flower arrangements created for the ceremony and for individuals will be billed separately and are the family's to take home.

What spaces can be used?
Our 200 year old barn, our sweet cherry orchard, two stone-walled courtyards, our pavilion or garden house, our 150 year old cottage for use of the bridal party. Our barn, outdoor spaces and bathrooms are handicap accessible.

Can we plan to have a ceremony at Hurd Orchards?
Several locations - in the orchard, courtyard, pavilion or in our barn can provide a beautiful setting for any kind of ceremony.

How many can Hurd Orchards accommodate?
Our barn can comfortably seat 75 to 100 people. By using a 30'x30' or 30'x40' tent in one courtyard that number can be increased to 150.

What type of event can you host?
Formal as well as informal, picnics, high teas, luncheons, simple or more elaborate dinners as well as finger food receptions (sweet and savory, hot and cold).

What about bar service?
Although we are not licensed to serve alcoholic beverages, we can recommend licensed service companies who do. They can also provide valet parking if desired.

What about music?
We have had several kinds of groups perform from Dixieland to swing to rock. Disc jockeys have also been used.

What about parking?
For larger groups we offer a separate parking entrance at the back of our orchard.

What about time?
We are comfortable hosting functions beginning at 12:00 noon. Because we are an active working farm we prefer that functions end by 9:00 p.m. (It usually takes an additional hour or more after guests leave for the bar and music to disassemble).


What if I cancel my wedding?
The deposit is non-refundable. Due to the limited availability of our space and time, we can not honor date changes or postponements of events.

When you are sure that Hurd Orchards provides the right atmosphere for you wedding check with us about a date for your event and we will schedule a mutually agreeable time to meet and be creative in making your wedding an enchanting experience.
At our meeting we will confirm your date with a deposit, we will then schedule an additional meeting to plan the details of your event.
